“ So cute inside! I can see bringing family and friends for lunch, too especially family from out of town on vacation visiting and to show ‘em some good vibes and great bar b Que !!! Delicious folks, it’s worth the drive and navigate this way! Good day! ”
“ We had to order food at the last minute for a group of 18 people. I called Hoegemeyer's at 10:30am to order 18 plates over the phone. Not only did they have it hot and ready when we arrived at 11:45am, but they were very nice and had great customer service! The food was amazing with very large portions! Thank you! ”
“ Finally made it here and man was it worth it. The absolute best brisket in Corpus. I had the holy Trinity of BBQ, brisket(off the point with bark and fat) spare ribs and jalapeno sausage with tater salad, green beans and peach cobbler. Brisket-EXTREMELY tender, juicy, great bark and seasoned perfectly. Slices were almost 1/2 inch thick and just melted in my mouth. Ribs- cooked more like competition style, not fall off bone but had to bite each piece off the bone, but not too tough. Just but and gently pulled off. Awesome flavor with the seasoning. Jalapeno sausage- was more of a pepper sausage than jalapeno. Not greasy at all Green beans- I was shocked at the great flavor of the beans. Visually looked boring but surprisingly had lots of flavor to them. Tater salad (potato salad for those not from the south)- traditional mustard based tater salad. Mustard not too over powering and taste truly homemade. Peach Cobbler- the only thing that would have made it better would have been some blue bell on top. I wish I had come here sooner instead of waiting till the end of my stay but there were a bunch of other places I had to eat first. Was best way to finish my 6 month stay here in Corpus Christi. ”
“ Visiting from out of town and wanted to have good bbq. Hoegemeyer’s simply doesn’t disappoint. I ordered the plate with Spanish rice, potato salad, beef ribs, and marbled brisket. Everything was great, but especially the ribs and brisket. Both were tender, fall apart consistency that were perfectly seasoned and smoke. As someone not from Texas this was a great way to experience this style of bbq for the first time. Would love to go again. Also worth mentioning all the staff were incredibly friendly and nice to talk to. Great service and food. ”
“ Yummmmy, only and I mean only note is, I got my order to go, with beans and corn, well my sandwich was completely soggy. Separate containers would be nice. That's all. ”
“ Had 2 meat plate with sliced brisket (marble) and baby back ribs, with baked tater salad and green beans as sides. The ribs were smoky and the brisket was very tender, and both meat were very tasty and flavorful. Loved the sides too especially the baked tater salad. There was also peach cobbler included in the meal, which was a good treat. Welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Also visited for a second time as we were leaving town and got another meal to go, since we loved this place so much. ”
“ They are o ly open from 11-3, so go early to make sure they have the dish you want! I highly recommend the beef ribs. Hubby was absolutely wild over them. Funky/fun atmosphere, amazing service and everything our party ordered was delicious! ”
“ TL;DR Great BBQ with friendly staff, worth visiting again! Ate here on a Wednesday afternoon and arrived only a few minutes after ordering. We were informed that it would take a few additional minutes to get our food due to a large catering order they were finishing making. We didn't mind the wait, and it was 100% worth the wait. We also found out that it was the restaurants anniversary for which we understand why they continue to stay around. When our food was taking longer than the restaurant expected the manager came out and thanked everyone for their patience and promised food to be delivered shortly. It was nice to see such proactivity from a restaurant. I ordered the two meat plate with brisket and smoked turkey. They had two options for potato salad a traditional version and a Texas version, I decided to try the texas version. I also selected their corn and was pleased to find out that a peach cobbler was included with the price of the meal. Everyone in my family finished their food and there wasn't a scrap to be found. The brisket was moist but not wet which is our preferred style. The smoked turkey was well seasoned and also maintained some moisture. We were well impressed with the portion sizes of the meat as well as the flavoring. Their in house sauce was also delicious. The most memorable thing we ate however was the Texas Potato salad, which appeared to have some sort of pepper (we assume bell pepper) flakes in it. It was absolutely to die for! We finished it all off with our respective peach cobbler which was a nice added bonus. None of the other 8 BBQ stops we would make included a form of dessert with their 2 meat plates. While this BBQ was delicious it lands quite comfortably on our #2 spot for the best BBQ in Texas. We will be back and definitely believe it is worth driving out of our way for again! ”
